The owner of Turkish Real
Estate, Adnan Menderes Ozcolak, spent his life in Australia until 2000. In
Australia he dedicated himself to promoting Turkiye accurately and pursued a
career in the tourism sector to contribute to this cause. His primary objective was to dispel
misconceptions about Turkiye in the country where he had lived and to build a
bridge between Australia and Turkiye, thereby not only promoting Turkiye but
also fostering the growth of Turkish tourism. Through his various roles within
the Australian tourism industry, he made significant contributions to the
promotion of Turkiye; his initiatives included spearheading the establishment
of a Turkish promotional office in Australia and facilitating the introduction
of Turkish Airlines to the Australian tourism industry.
During his tenure at the
Turkish Airlines Sydney office between 1998 and 2000—specifically through the
monthly activity reports he submitted to headquarters in 1999—he provided
insights that undoubtedly helped shape the future strategic steps taken by our
national flag carrier and no doubt the Turkish aviation sector in general with Istanbul now the worlds major transit hub. Believing that
the mission he had set for himself in Australia was fulfilled, he returned to
Turkiye in September 2000.
In 2001, he began operating a
travel agency in Marmaris, leveraging his professional expertise. At that time, the sale of real estate to
foreign nationals had substantial bureaucratic hurdles in place.
Observing a growing interest among tourists in acquiring real estate in
Türkiye, he created the "Turkish Real Estate" brand and established a
real estate agency with the aim of attracting investors to the
country, while he also continued serving in the tourism industry with his travel agent Outback Travel & Tours.
During the early years, the
sale of real estate to foreign nationals involved a highly challenging and
bureaucratic procedure. At that time,
authorization had to be obtained from the Sea of Islands Army Command, and the transfer
of the title deed could take three months or even longer. Throughout these difficult periods, Turkish
Real Estate ensured that none of its clients faced any setbacks, successfully
and securely helping numerous international investors become property owners in
Türkiye.
As the process for foreign
nationals to acquire real estate in Türkiye became easier over the years,
Turkish Real Estate continued as pioneers in promoting Turkish properties to
the international community and participated in real estate expos across the
globe, from Ireland and China to Japan, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and
Sweden. These efforts played a significant role in both attracting investors to
Turkiye and promoting the country itself. Notably, the company remains the only firm based
in Marmaris that participates in international real estate expos.
